Only 8 minutes drive from the camp. Come and play a round of golf for $20 and then enjoy the Café & Bar Restaurant. Open 7 days.
Rangiora Golf Club
Located in beautiful North Canterbury, just 9 minutes drive from the camp. The Rangiora Golf Club boasts country hospitality with all the city conveniences. This spectacular course will provide a great day out for all levels of golfing ability. Whether you are looking to join in one of the many competitions or just looking to play casually, they look forward to welcoming you to the course.
Wee Dram Farm Park
Located in Fernside just out of Rangiora, 17 minutes drive away. The perfect place to get hands-on with all sorts of animals and learn about county life, feed fluffy baby animals and even go on pony rides. Open Thursday, Friday and Sunday 10am to 4pm or by appointment for group bookings.
Waimak River Riding Centre
Open 7 days a week every day of the year except Christmas Day! Waimak River Riding Centre Ltd and Waimak River Adventures Ltd were set up by Erika and Stan McStay in February 2001 for the purpose of providing a safe and enjoyable riding experience for riders of all abilities. Situated at Belfast, only 14 minutes drive from the camp.
National Scout Museum, Kaiapoi
The National Scout Museum has a permanent display detailing the history of Scouting in New Zealand starting from Baden Powell's story and his founding of the movement, before covering the origins of Scouting in New Zealand.
Rangiora Museum
Take a step back in time and see how the people of the Rangiora and districts used to live. Rangiora Museum is a local history museum with a very extensive photographic and archival collection covering Rangiora and Districts.
Northbrook Colonial Museum Rangiora
On the outskirts of Rangiora, set on a tranquil rural property, the Northbrook Colonial Museum boasts an extensive range of New Zealand's colonial history. Go back in time and experience some of our fascinating history including an early street comprising shops of butcher, chemist, hardware etc.
Willowbank Wildlife Reserve
Willowbank prides itself on its conservation and rehabilitation of rare and endangered species. Just a 19-minute drive into town. Open from 9.30am to 7pm.
Orana Wildlife Park
Orana Park is New Zealand's only open-range zoo, set in 80 hectares and home to over 400 animals representing 70 species. Bit more of a drive being 30 minutes but definitely worth the trip! Home to New Zealand's only Gorillas!
International Antarctic Centre
The Antarctic Centre has twice been judged New Zealand's best attraction and features a snow and ice experience, an all-terrain Haggland ride, and over 30 little blue penguins in a state-of-the-art facility. Also on site is Priestley's Antarctic Café which has a range of tasty menu options to fuel your explorations and is open daily from 8am til 5pm. Situated 24 minutes drive from the camp.
Pegasus Walkway
The Pegasus Walkway takes you the length of the Tuhaitara Park (10.5km) from Pines/Kairaki Beach through to Waikuku Beach. This track is a shared trail for walkers, mountain bikers and horses. The Pegasus Walkway goes straight past our camp, most people like to do the shorter walk from here to Pegasus and back. Lovely place to stop for a coffee or refreshment, very beautiful scenery around the lake.
